Project Manager in Marine Research

Starting salary from £35,333 per annum, dependent on skills and experience, with an annual increment up to £42,155 per annum.
You will provide operational oversight and internal and external facing communications of a UN Decade programme on ocean-based carbon dioxide removal approaches called Global ONCE (Ocean Negative Carbon Emissions). Key responsibilities include helping to develop an implementation plan to achieve the programme objectives, developing and implementing an internal and external communications strategy, assisting in the preparation and dissemination of research data, monitoring progress of the programme objectives, producing regular progress reports, and organising and participating in marine science outreach activities.
You will have a relevant postgraduate research degree or equivalent professional experience in marine biogeochemistry/microbiology, excellent communication and project management skills, the ability to work collaboratively in teams to meet deadlines and be able to manage your time to balance competing priorities. Fluency in Chinese or a second European language would be advantageous. The administrative office of Global ONCE is in Xiamen, China (UTC+8) and so some flexible and out-of-usual-hours working, as well as selected international travel, is required.
This full-time post is available from 1 September 2023 or as soon as possible thereafter, for a fixed term period of 12 months in the first instance, with the possibility of extension.
