The School of Health Sciences’ mission is to be a leader in health care innovation and education, addressing global healthcare challenges and equipping others to do the same.

At an exciting time of development, we are seeking to appoint highly motivated Lecturers in Health Sciences, to join our experienced and dedicated academic team.

Candidates will be NMC registered, with a good first degree (2:1 or above), as well as demonstrable expertise and experience in clinical practice, with the ability to contribute widely to nursing curriculum development, delivery and assessment (pre and post registration).

We warmly invite you to join a supportive, vibrant and committed academic community with a shared goal to deliver first class education within a strong multidisciplinary community of learning. As well as encouraging and guiding the development of our learners, you will also be provided with opportunities for self-development through active academic mentorship, team working, peer learning and a strong collegial approach to scholarly and research activity. If required, you will be supported to achieve a Masters level higher education qualification that will enable you to develop the knowledge, skills and autonomy to consolidate and extend your academic practice and to become a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

The School is committed to inclusive, responsive, interprofessional education and to working collaboratively with a range of external professions and organisations to achieve the strategic goals of the School, University and our regional health and social care partners.

These indefinite posts are available immediately on a full or part-time basis up to 1.5fte and will be subject to an enhanced criminal record check from the Disclosure and Barring Service.

UEA offers a variety of flexible working options and although this role is available on a full-time basis, we encourage applications from individuals who would prefer a flexible working pattern including annualised hours, compressed working hours, part-time, job share, term-time only and/or hybrid working.  Details of preferred hours should be stated in the personal statement and will be discussed further at interview.

The University is committed to diversifying its workforce. As examples, we already hold an Athena SWAN Silver Institutional Award in recognition of our advancement towards gender equality. We also have a Vice-Chancellor led Taskforce on Tackling Racism and a Race Equality Charter Working Group which support our work on race equality. Our aim is to submit to the Race Equality Charter in 2024.
