UEA Library

Senior Information Assistant (0.4fte)
Ref: SC4282

£21,197 to £23,144 per annum, pro rata
2 Posts, Part-Time (0.4fte)

We are looking for a customer-focussed individual to join our busy helpdesk team in the University Library. The role provides a varied working environment dealing directly with users to provide an excellent customer experience both of our in-building resources and the UEA Digital Library. We seek applications from people with experience from all kinds of customer service environments who enjoy working within a user-focussed team to create a friendly and welcoming environment.

You must have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and web-based applications, and be confident assisting users through email, telephone and online chat. The role holder will be enthusiastic about supporting all our users equally to access our services and use their own judgements to make adjustments as necessary to meet the needs of our diverse user community. Excellent written communications skills and high attention to detail will be essential for this role. Most of all you will be a team worker capable of managing your own time and collaborating closely with your colleagues.

These part-time (0.4fte) posts are available immediately on an indefinite basis. The shift pattern is varied and includes early evening and weekend shifts, and some working from home days, so flexibility is essential. The role also includes moving trolleys in and around working areas, and re-shelving items throughout the building (reasonable adjustments will be considered for an individual in line with the Equality Act 2010 following the recommendation of Occupational Health).

We recognise that sometimes people can be put off applying if they don’t match every requirement. If you’re excited about the role and think you can do what we’ve described, we welcome your application. If you’re not sure you’re quite who we’re looking for do contact us with any questions.

Closing date: Thursday 3 November 2022

The University is committed to diversifying its workforce. As examples, we already hold an Athena SWAN Silver Institutional Award in recognition of our advancement towards gender equality. We also have a Vice-Chancellor led Taskforce on Tackling Racism and a Race Equality Charter Working Group which support our work on race equality. Our aim is to submit to the Race Equality Charter in 2024.
