Associate Professor of Robotics and Autonomous Systems

£53,353 to £61,823 per annum
Full-Time, indefinite 

The School of Engineering is looking to appoint a highly motivated Associate Professor of Robotics and Autonomous Systems to continue our growth and exploit the significant recent investment in new facilities at Productivity East.

You will have a broad mission to develop research and education in robotics, advanced manufacturing and engineering, with a particular focus on working with local stakeholders to deliver impact to the local region.  
 
The successful candidate will be a high-calibre, research-excellent individual, typically with a background in control, automation, machine intelligence and/or sensory perception. You will have a track record, or keen interest, in collaborating with the energy, manufacturing and/or technology sectors; in addition to a track record in attracting funding, generating research outputs and impact.
 
You will also contribute to the development of our state-of-the-art Productivity East facility - a new regional hub for engineering, technology and management. Together, our students, academics and businesses will explore new ideas to develop prototype designs and create innovative products and services. This post is available from 1 January 2023 or as soon as possible thereafter on a full-time, indefinite basis.
