Director of Prescribing Studies (0.2fte)

£53,353 to £61,823 per annum, pro rata
The Director of Prescribing Studies will be responsible for educational leadership across the portfolio of pharmacy courses in which prescribing training is a component. This includes the current Independent Prescribing Course, the Newly Qualified Pharmacist training programme with IP (NQP-IP) and the Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) degree during its transition to deliver the General Pharmaceutical Council’s Initial Education and Training Standards (GPhC IETS).
You will work with the Clinical Academic teams of all programmes, as well as the major employers and stakeholders, to create, accredit and maintain programmes that are fit for the current and future workforces. You will be responsible for innovation in the early advanced practice space and participate in national strategy, integrating the visions of the university, the GPhC and the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) for autonomous pharmacy practice and continuing professional development. You will also take on a portfolio assessment role in common with all team members and teach within your own clinical discipline.
The ideal candidate will be a pharmacist of broad clinical and operational experience, who is also an active prescriber. You will have experience of working in Higher Education and workplace learning and assessment across a number of healthcare professions and hold postgraduate qualifications in both pharmacy practice and education. You need to be motivated by excellence in pharmacy practice and have a track record of negotiation and influencing to achieve common goals and deliver medium and large-scale projects.
This part-time (0.2fte) post is available immediately on an indefinite basis. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and appointment will be subject to a criminal record check at Standard level from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
