This Research Assistant post is an exciting opportunity for somebody who is keen to gain experience in undertaking research in the field of clinical psychology and/or dementia.
This NIHR-funded study entitled iACT4CARERS will develop online Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) for carers of people with dementia and test its feasibility across three NHS sites. ACT is an “acceptance-based” and “value-driven” Cognitive Behaviour Therapy which aims to promote psychological flexibility, the ability to choose to do what matters most, even in the presence of psychological struggles.
The role is based at UEA in Norwich and you will contribute to the delivery of the project under supervision of the Chief Investigator, Dr Naoko Kishita, and a multidisciplinary team of international experts.
To apply for this role, you will have a good undergraduate qualification in psychology/health related discipline or have an equivalent level of relevant work experience. You will also be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of the importance of empirical research in improving well-being among family carers of people with dementia using psychological principles.
The post is available from 1 January 2020 on a full-time basis for a fixed term period of 16 months and will be subject to a criminal record check at Enhanced level from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
