Full-Time, Fixed Term
A three-year Senior Research Associate position in ultrafast spectroscopy is available from January 2023. The post will be held in the group of Prof. Steve Meech in the School of Chemistry at the University of East Anglia, UK. Candidates with a PhD in Chemical Physics or a related discipline and demonstrable expertise in developing and applying ultrafast transient spectroscopies are encouraged to apply. An interest in protein dynamics and an enthusiasm to collaborate with life scientists will be beneficial, as will proven skills in data analysis and authorship of research papers.
Experiments will deploy ultrafast absorption, fluorescence and stimulated Raman methods to develop a full picture of the photoprotein structure and dynamics. The experiments are all currently operational at UEA, but some important extensions to the methods will be developed during the project. There will also be an opportunity to work at central laser facilities applying other ultrafast techniques.
This full-time post is available immediately, on a fixed term basis of up to 3 years.
