Research Associate in Cardiovascular Medicine (full-time, fixed term for 4 years)

£27,116 to £33,309 per annum
We are seeking to appoint a Research Associate with experience in cardiac imaging or cardiovascular medicine. This is a great opportunity for an individual with an interest in cardiac imaging to work at the University of East Anglia. In 2001 the old Norfolk and Norwich Hospital moved to the newly built Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital (NNUH) on the western side of the city close to the University of East Anglia and the Norwich Research Park which, together with NNUH, form one of the UK’s largest Academic Campuses.
The candidate will be expected to work cohesively with both the Radiology and Cardiology Departments at NNUH to facilitate research/clinical activities. The department of Radiology at NNUH have rapidly expanding cutting-edge translational cardiac MRI services. It is one of the first few sites in the UK using four-dimensional flow imaging in routine clinical practice. In addition, the Cardiology Department at NNUH is entering an exciting phase of expansion with rapid progress being made in digitalisation of healthcare record. This would provide the appointee an exceptional resource for clinical validation studies.
This exciting post will see the Research Associate working with novel quantitative cardiac MRI analysis techniques, developing imaging post-processing automated clinical/research pipelines and possible machine learning. The post is funded by the University of East Anglia and will be supported by Wellcome Trust funded research.
The candidate will have effective communication skills both written and verbal and be able to develop creative approaches to problem solving. Previous experience in cardiac imaging or cardiovascular medicine is desirable. The candidate will be based both at Bob Champion Research and Education (BCRE) building and at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.
This post is available immediately on a full-time basis for a fixed term period of 4 years.
