Are you interested in helping reshape a part of our busy catering department?

UEA Catering Services (https://www.uea.ac.uk/uea-life/campus-life/eat-and-drink) are seeking an enthusiastic, creative and experienced Chef to join our large and busy catering department. You will be hands on and enjoy cooking new and exciting patisserie options for our multicultural students and staff. You will be a crucial team player within the day-to-day operation of our patisserie kitchen, ensuring that batches are prepared and cooked on time.  

Is this role for me?

You will be working alongside our experienced Head Pastry Chef supplying all the university food outlets with traybakes, cakes, cookies, pastries and Hospitality functions.
You will be a hands-on in high volume production, maintaining the standards the customers have come to expect. 
Preparing orders ready for delivery.
Supervising stock of production and managing mise en place.
Have a desire to input ideas for future products
Enjoy working in a newly developed clean-tidy kitchen with a calm approach to getting the job done.
Ability to support the team in all areas of the business out of term.

An NVQ level 2 in a catering discipline or equivalent experience is vital. If you meet all the essential requirements of the person specification, it would be great to hear from you!

The interview will include a trade test for you to show off your culinary skills.

This full-time post is available immediately on an indefinite basis.
