Widening Access and Participation Evidence Officer
Ref: SC4331
£27,929 to £34,308 per annum
Are you interested in helping UEA to understand widening access and participation issues? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Widening Access and Participation Evidence Officer, a crucial role that supports staff to ensure that access and participation as well as inclusive education aims are understood and embedded.
You will work closely with the Widening Access and Participation Management Team and the Evaluation and Evidence Manager to support the design and implementation of our work to support students through the entire lifecycle. Your focus will be on building the evidence base for our work and keeping up to date on sector and internal research to help us understand and evaluate our work. You’ll get to digest sector insights and policy, undertake research projects, write reports to identify key areas of action and communicate your findings to UEA’s large and diverse community involved in widening access and participation.
To do this, you’ll need to have experience of interpreting research and data, including qualitative and quantitative information. Your previous experience might include working on evaluation projects or monitoring policy and practice across your sector. We’re looking for someone with strong written and verbal communication skills, who can analyse and interpret data whilst using their interpersonal and negotiation skills to work collaboratively.
Currently the team works in a hybrid pattern of homeworking plus days in the office located in UEA’s library. The post is available immediately on a full-time, indefinite basis.
UEA offers a variety of flexible working options and although this role is advertised on a full-time basis, we encourage applications from individuals who would prefer a flexible working pattern including annualised hours, compressed working hours, part time, job share, term-time only and/or hybrid working. Details of preferred hours should be stated in the personal statement and will be discussed further at interview.
Closing date: Monday 30 January 2023
The University is committed to diversifying its workforce. As examples, we already hold an Athena SWAN Silver Institutional Award in recognition of our advancement towards gender equality. We also have a Vice-Chancellor led Taskforce on Tackling Racism and a Race Equality Charter Working Group which support our work on race equality. Our aim is to submit to the Race Equality Charter in 2024.
