£35,333 to £42,155 per annum 

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join the Faculty Professional Services (FPS) leadership team in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities (HUM). 

We are looking for a versatile individual to become the School Manager for two academic units. The role will cover the School of Art, Media, and American Studies and the Interdisciplinary Institute for the Humanities. It’s a role that covers a wide range of activities in the Faculty and in addition to working around the regular academic cycle, you will get chance to take a lead on projects across the Faculty.

The School Manager plays a crucial role working in partnership with the Head of School and other academic leaders to ensure that the strategic and operational objectives set out by the School are achieved.

This is a role encompassing a wide variety of topics within the lifecycle of both the School and the Faculty. Key areas of focus include financial management; resource management and workload modelling; process monitoring and process development; and team leadership. It’s a role that covers the full range of activities that enable a School to function and ensures that the business and administrative requirements of the School are met.

School Managers in HUM also take on Faculty wide projects that are related to vital moments in the academic cycle, such as Welcome Week, developments in teaching, research, and employability such as curriculum review, research ethics, and placement provision. In addition, we undertake projects within the HUM FPS group that include development, culture, and wellbeing, such as upskilling IT knowledge and mentoring.

Our team is currently operating under hybrid working conditions meaning that the role will be a blend of working on campus, or at our Broadcast House facility in Norwich city centre and working from home.

This full-time post is available from 1 January 2023 on a fixed term basis until 31 July 2024.
