£27,929 to £34,308 per annum, pro rata for part-time
The Faculty of Medicine and Health Citizen’s Academy is a dynamic new venture to develop, support and lead innovative approaches to public and patient involvement and engagement (PPIE) in both research and teaching. We are looking for an enthusiastic and innovative Research Associate to join our expanding team. You will have passion for engaging with patients and the public and be an excellent communicator who can work sensitively with diverse groups of people to maximise inclusivity.
You will lead on project based PPIE, including advising on specific project PPI needs, supporting the design and delivery of PPI throughout the lifecycle of funded research projects. You will have lead responsibility for advising teaching staff on PPIE, working with the Director to design and deliver PPIE training.
You will work independently but as part of a close-knit team, coordinating your own work, and supporting the work of the Director. The role will include the presentation of information to the steering group, supporting the preparation of grant submissions, delivery of PPI plans and strategy within funded projects, and subsequent preparation of papers, impact and enterprise activity. You will work closely with, and report to, the Director and be supported by aResearch Business Support Administrator and Administrative Assistant.
The post is available immediately on a part-time (0.8fte) indefinite basis. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Appointment will be subject to a criminal record check at Enhanced level from the Disclosure and Barring Service, including a check of the Adult Barred List. It is an offence to apply for this role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to vulnerable adults.
