An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Learning Manager at the Sainsbury Centre at the University of East Anglia.

This post will support an exciting new Arts Council funded project, Art, Death and Afterlife.  As a part of this programme, the Sainsbury Centre will partner with Swaffham Museum and two Swaffham schools.  The aim is to develop a suite of innovative new, artist-led schools’ resources for Swaffham Museum, and develop an extra-curricular project with young adults.  These will re-explore our fascination with Egyptian culture through the themes raised by the Museum’s collection, the upcoming Visions of Egypt exhibition at the Sainsbury Centre, and through the residency of contemporary Egyptian artist, Sara Salam.  

You will work closely with Swaffham Museum, our partner schools in Swaffham, and a Sainsbury Centre Associate Artist. As Project Manager, you will ensure the timely delivery of the key outputs outlined in the ACE bid:  delivering up to 6 artist-led workshops, and three accompanying teacher’s packs for KS1-3.  You will also manage the evaluation process that will demonstrate that the outcomes have been met.  

This post would ideally suit a museum learning professional with experience of delivering schools programmes and resources related to collections. A strong interest in learning more about Egyptian art and culture through a revisionist, contemporary perspective would be an advantage.

This part-time (0.4fte) post is available from 19 September 2022 on a fixed-term basis until 28 April 2023.
