Senior Research Associate (RA1535)
Modelling of Atmospheric Chemistry and Sea-Ice Biogeochemistry

£32,548 - £38,833 per annum

Applications are invited for a Senior Research Associate to undertake modelling studies of chemical, physical and biological processes related to sea-ice and the overlying atmosphere and underlying water using the highly instrumented Roland von Glasow Air-Sea-Ice-Chamber (RvG-ASIC; https://www.uea.ac.uk/environmental-sciences/sea-ice-chamber).

The studies will be undertaken in the context of the 4-year Eurochamp-2020 project (http://eurochamp.org) and involve a combination of experimental and modelling work, jointly with an experimental SRA.  

The successful candidate will be expected to document the work in scientific reports, software manuals, write scientific publications for international, peer-reviewed journals and present the work at national and international conferences, and to stakeholders and policymakers. There is a scope to adapt or enhance the project in a direction of the SRA's interest.

You must have a minimum of a PhD in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Physics or equivalent independent research experience, together with evidence of publication(s) accepted in international scientific journals and be able to fulfil all essential elements of the person specification. 

This full time post is available on 15 October 2018 for a fixed term of 24.5 months but must end no later than 31 October 2020.
